Note: This is most likely a preliminary drawing for one of Sickert’s Baccarat paintings. At the time, Baccarat was illegal, the British would cross the Channel to visit Dieppe’s Casino Mauresque in France. With thanks to Dr Wendy Baron for confirming the authenticity of this work.
