Peter Stanaway is a highly regarded member of Manchester Academy of Art. Subsequently his work is highly sought after and has been exhibited throughout the North West. Including Manchester City Art Gallery, Salford Art Gallery and Liverpool Cathedral.
Peter attended the now-closed De La Sale teacher training college followed by Manchester University before becoming taking up a teaching post in Salford. Peter has an Honours degree in education. He was also head of art in Salford and finished his career working in a special needs school.
Stanaway’s work is highly sought after by serious art collectors in the UK and abroad. His paintings are sharp, graphically structured and yet have a sense of softness.
He is heavily influenced by the people and places around him, painting his local locations in his own unique style. The Manchester area was particularly significant to him as it is the area that he was born and grew up in.
